Great hike. In my opinion, Mount Washington is much more varied and overall more enjoyable than Mt. Si, with which it's compared. Although there is quite a bit of elevation gain, this trail seemed easy on the way up. This trail forgoes the switchbacks for long, sustained uphill sections. Coming down is another story - the downhill slog seems to drag on for quite a while, but the view at the top is worth it.
We did encounter some water on the trail, and thick, watery mud in a couple of smaller sections. But nothing that was too much of a bother. There are two very small stream crossings, barely worth mentioning - just something to keep in mind if you're hiking with kids.
Get there early, or risk not finding any parking. We arrived at 8:30, and had no issues getting a spot. By the time we were back to the car around 2:00, the parking lot was packed and overfilled out to the street a quarter-mile away.
Overall, I highly recommend this hike. Spectacular views of Mt. Rainier to the south, and the Cascades to the north.
