Lime Kiln Trail — Wednesday, Jul. 2, 2014

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway
It was a beautiful day, so we thought we would explore the Lime Kiln Trail. The trail was in very good shape. There was mud in a few places, but nothing you couldn't get around. It looked like someone had recently been through and cut back the nettles on over one third of the trail. This made it very nice. The kids enjoyed seeing the artifacts at the end of the trail. The trail is also rocky in places with lots of up and down. We did not continue down to the river, as we met another family coming back up that said it became too difficult for their younger ones. Round trip to the kiln is 5.2 miles.
