North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway

Great day for a mid-week hike to Mt Pilchuck. Arrived at the trail around 10:00. Found at least seven or eight cars in the parking lot. Fairly thin on the trail. Trail is in decent shape for a mostly rocky uphill climb. Almost all of the snow is completely gone and very little water on the trail too. One thing that must be noted ...the lookout is closed this week for repairs. We were able to get up around the top but the lookout was surrounded by caution tape and there were people working inside. As for the climb, it is strenuous and the heat adds to the challenge. Would recommend saving this one for a cool morning or late afternoon.
