Ebey's Landing — Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014

Puget Sound and Islands > Whidbey Island

With a rebreak in the weather promising a bit of sunshine between fronts, I decided that I was about time to get hiking season started. Where to go? Well, this time of year is always perfect for a good Puget Sound hike. Ebey's Landing, here I come! It was a little nippy, so I was all bundled up at the start of the hike. Mt. Baker and the Cascades were clearly visible in all their splendor. I did the loop starting with the bluff. There was plenty of mud and some slippery spots on the bluff from the recent rain. But, golly, it sure was beautiful, with views out over the sparkling waters of Admiralty Inlet to the Olympic Mountains. I dropped down to the beach, where the water gently lapped the shore in the glistening sunshine. What a day!
