Dayhiked up to the Tolmie Peak Lookout in Mt. Rainier park with some friends. Dirt road the last few miles was in decent condition--some potholes and washboarding, but nothing most sedans can't handle. Trail in very good condition. Maybe one blowdown. Snow was non-existant until Lake Eunice, then at the time of the hike, was about a foot or so deep when passing the lake. Probably gone by the third week in July! No snow to speak of going up the final hill to the lookout. Once there, it's a fantastic view of Rainier and all surrounding areas! No bugs right now, but I'm sure that will change shortly! The lookout was locked but shutters are open, so one can see exactly what a "working lookout" actually looked like when there were dozens peppering the mountain tops of our scenic state! All in all, an excellent, fairly easy day hike to a fantastic viewpoint next to mighty Mt. Rainier! Beargrass was in flower, and I'm sure there will be more flowers showing off shortly!
