Carter Falls — Thursday, Jul. 17, 2014

Mount Rainier Area > SW - Longmire/Paradise
Cool bridge
We hiked from the Carter Falls trailhead up to the falls - about 2 miles (maybe less). The day was nice and sunny. The trail was very well maintained. We had a bunch of kids hiking with us with ages ranging from 5 to 12 yo. The kids loved going over the log bridge at the beginning of the trail that crosses the Copper River. It was exciting! There were fairly steep parts of the hike - it was not an "easy" hike so be prepared to work to get to the falls. The views were grand. Once we reached the first set of falls then the kids wanted to turn back so we did but the trail continued on... I assume to Madcap Falls and then beyond to Wonderland trail but not sure. We'll have to return again and explore some more.
Steep Hike
Beautiful!
