Trip Report
Waptus Lake via Waptus River — Friday, Jul. 25, 2014
Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
we set out for a good backpacking trip up to lake waptus, bridge is out as everyone knows and the growth of some areas are starting to get overgrown, but totally doable.. the water crossing wasn't bad to cross, and it actually felt quite refreshing, careful of those rocks though they are slick definitely need some kind of water shoe. my girlfriend didn't have many issues, but for us shorter people water was up to my thighs.
the lake was amazing we got there early with only one other group at the lake, we set up camp kinds off to the side of the main area because i knew it would get filled up come saturday and we wanted a little privacy. surroundings are gorgeous, weather was perfect, hike was easy.
like the other hiker said, come saturday the lake was pretty packed, so get that early start for a great spot. we had even planned other hikes out of waptus lake, but decided to just hangout there and enjoy the lake for the day and headed out sunday.. bring plenty of water on the way down we actually ran out of water so the last three miles were miserable..
