Forrest Road 65 and 63 add at least 25-30 minutes of driving to and from the trail head. I did not see that in any of the other trail reports.
Arrived Tuesday morning around 8, only saw two people going up the trail while 10 groups as I went back down.
Trail is 4 miles to the lake according to GPS, not 3.5, shade protects you from the sun the majority of the hike, however I would still recommend leaving earlier rather then later, the increased temperature makes the climb much more challenging.
