Trip Report

Kendall Katwalk, Gravel Lake - Ridge Lake — Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Steep drop from the trail.
Great trail with gradual slope. Two blowdowns to step over. Walked to Ridge Lake and Gravel Lake only to be swarmed by mosquitoes. Retreated back up the trail to eat lunch and was welcomed by more mosquitoes. The lakes look like a great place to spend a couple of nights. As another reviewer mentioned, the terrain varies a lot on this hike, and there is much to enjoy. If your feet are sensitive, I suggest foregoing trail runners for boots. I didn't have a problem, but there is a lot of rock. The trail beyond the catwalk is really gentle. My map shows 1.8 miles to the lakes, hardly seemed like a mile. Will definitely return when the days are shorter and the bugs gone.
Ridge Lake.
Good place for lunch.
Morning sun.
