Paddy-Go-Easy Pass, North Scatter Creek — Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
Sprite Lake at Paddy Go Easy Pass
It was a cool 60 degrees when I left the trail head at 7:30 AM. Paddy-Go-Easy is pleasant trail in great condition that rises steadily at a moderate rate. Make sure you stop to look over your shoulder on the way up as the far ridge comes into view with Mt. Daniel and Glacier Peak raise their heads. I reached the Pass around 10:30 and after a brief rest traversed up the ridge to the right where the views of Glacier and the Central Cascades are epic. I chose to exit North Scatter Creek for a little variety. At the remnants of the hard rock mine at the dry tarn I traversed on the east by hugging the 6100 contour until I reached the distinct avalanche path with many snapped trees. Dropping through the path you intersect the N. Scatter Creek Trail. To call the N. Scatter Creek trail direct is an understatement. It falls straight down the ridge with few switchbacks until you exit at the Scatter Creek Campground. A little tough on these older knees. A quick hike up the road and I was back at the car at 3. It was a great day under high overcast and some thunderstorms booming in the distance. Lots of wildlife including grouse and a hawk that was surprised that I was standing by his favorite perch on the ridge. And thank you to those who have just recently cut the dead fall off the N. Scatter Creek.

not Glacier Peak

That's Mount Daniel with Cathedral Peak in the foreground. Glacier is about 30 miles N.
