Beckler Peak — Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West
Jack's First Peak!
For a full trip report check out our blog at the link listed at the bottom of the trip report! The road to the trailhead had some potholes but wasn't too difficult of a drive. We had a fantastic day on the trail with our 6 month old finally bagging his first peak! I still can't believe that we were able to hike a peak in February in short sleeves with very little snow. Snow was intermittent on the trail about a mile before the summit. The snow became more blanketed the closer we got to the peak but it wasn't difficult to cross. We used MicroSpikes on the way down but that was a precaution we took because of the little human being strapped to my husband! Trekking poles were nice to have to prevent falls. There were lots of dogs on the trail and lots of people! Throughout our hike we kept remarking on what excellent shape the trail was in! Our WTA volunteers did an awesome job on this trail! There were just a couple of easily crossed blowdowns. Several stream crossings along the old road at the beginning of the hike giving our dog plenty of water at the beginning and end of the hike. The trailhead has a privy but it was closed for the season.
We couldn't have asked for a better day!
Follow a set of trail stairs leading off the main trail to the site of this old cabin!
