Snow Lake — Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

I hiked to snow lake with 3 friends and 3 dogs. We started at about 8:30AM and the snow was hard packed and icy on the whole trail. We all chose to not use any kind of ice cleats but advise it for anyone else planning a trip to Snow Lake. On our return trip to the car the sun had softened up some of the snow and made it easier to walk on. In the trees (less exposure to sunlight) the trail remained icy for the duration of our hike. On our decent we saw many people, even with children, attempting to hike the trail in tennis shoes. Some didn't look like they would make it very far at all. We were fortunate to have clear blue skies for the whole day. it was beautiful!
