Trip Report
Deception Pass State Park - Headlands / Rosario Head / Lighthouse Point — Thursday, Mar. 26, 2015
Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
It's always a favorite hiking around the Deception Pass trails. The views are always magnificent! Started tonight from the Bowman Bay parking lot. First ventured down the Lighthouse Point trail. It's a very scenic trail, but there is not a Lighthouse there anymore. Along the way, we saw a few wildflowers blooming and evidence that many more would be bloomed soon! After the loop, we came back to the junction (Lighthouse Point / Lottie Bay / Bowman Bay) and went right onto the Lottie Point trail. Along this trail we saw a lot of Lady's Slippers in bloom, some yellow blooms short shrub and a few short orange flowers. The views from Lottie Point were grand and very relaxing! It provides a great view of the bridge And Canoe Island. We did see a few eagles soaring overhead.
