Trip Report

Lake 22 — Saturday, Apr. 4, 2015

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway
view from the small clearing just off the trail at the top.
First time doing the Lake 22 hike. There was a nice amount of snow at the top making it a beautiful walk around the lake. On the way up, it was pretty clear path. Just a lot of water and mud. Right at the beginning of the hike, there was a huge puddle that was quite an obstacle. We climb over the side of the tree. There were tracks that went around the tree as well but that path was muddy. Other than that, most spots were just flowing streams of water or smaller mud holes. On our way down, most of the snow that was just right at the top had melted making more of a muddy mess but still passable.
a view past the bridge at the top. By the time we left, the snow had cleared from the trail at top but this shows the trail when we got there.
