Wonderful hike! For my 24th birthday my fiancee, her son (7 years old) and I took off for Lake 22. Parking was a bit difficult, we had to park down the road but a short walk to the trailhead and we were on our way. Taking the child proved to be no problem but he tired out just a smidge before the top. The trail begin rather easy, a brisk walk through the forest. There is a plenty of shade and a few small streams running through the ground which create a very calming setting. After a few brief waterfalls the hike takes a steep climb, which ends with a complete rockery path (be careful on the way down). We finally arrived at the breathtaking lake and marveled at the beauty, took a few selfies and then began our decent. Be careful on the way down, the rockery you climbed up on the way there is fairly dangerous on the way down.
All in all a great hike. Had we not had major dinner arrangements that night we most definitely would have packed a lunch and ate at the top. Taking the boy up there might have been slightly to far up, but he made it just fine.
