Cooper River — Wednesday, Jun. 24, 2015

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
Pools near the beginning
Hiked from Salmon La Sac campground to Cooper Lake and started around noon. There were about 6 cars at the trailhead but most people were swimming in the river immediately after the trails starts. Really cool area to jump into deep river pools off overhanging rocks. I even saw a rope across the river...next time! The hike isn't much for viewpoints but you get the peace and solitude while hiking the woods along the river. The best viewpoints for the river are right at the beginning and near the end before you cross the road to Cooper Lake. Once we hiked past Owhi campground and found a secluded mini 'beach' along the lake it was about 4.6 miles in (according to my friends FitBit), so a little longer than anticipated but it still was just before 2 oclock. This trail is great for conditioning as it is a lot of mini ups and downs but no serious climbing. The distance still makes it quite a good stretch for the legs, 9.2 miles all together.
Cooper River
A ledge you can climb onto near the beginning as well, make sure you are a confident climber with good shoes though!
Final destination..ahhh
