First time on this trail and to these lakes. We thought we'd hit Copper Lake and see how we felt. Passing Trout lake we thought it would be a good kids trip.We continued on and stopped at the water fall to enjoy the view. Water was low so we climbed down it a bit to enjoy it and cool off. We headed up the trail pushing all the switch backs while the weather was cooler (we saw people climbing later when it was well in the 70's and 80s'). We skipped Malachite, next time we will stop. We enjoyed the view and the smoke had reduced from the Eastern WA wildfires, but it was still present. We pushed on to Little Heart Lake and checked out the area. I certainly would do this hike again and would like to make some overnight trips as well. The area is beautiful and having so many lakes close to each other is nice.
