Cougar Mountain is one of the places I rarely visit, despite it being so close to Seattle. This is partially because I'm not a big fan of the trails (not a lot of challenge nor good views), but also because of the crowds. This place gets packed on the weekends with families, but if you don't mind that, then it's a great place to take a stroll in the woods.
One benefit of the wide, well maintained trails is that they're great for trail running. You don't need to worry about getting caught behind someone or causing any issues with your speed. There's also not a ton of elevation gain, even on the uphill sections, so it makes for a good training ground. The trails themselves are nicely surfaced, so you won't be rolling your ankle on roots or loose rocks.
The falls make for a decent destination on the loop, so I'd recommend this if you want a nice easy hike in the woods without spending tons of time getting to a trailhead. Just be prepared to meet hundreds of other like-minded people out there!
