Palouse to Cascades Trail - South Cle Elum Trailhead — Wednesday, Sep. 9, 2015

I'm not sure if this should be in the Snoqualmie Pass section of the John Wayne Trail or not. I have hiked many sections of the trail, and the one I took today starts at the South Cle Elum trailhead and goes west. I did about 3.5 miles and turned around. This is one of my favorite parts of the trail. It includes an historic railroad interpretive sight, wetlands, river crossings, nice Yakima River views, occasional trains rumbling nearby, a working lumber mill, lots of mountain views, and, this time of the year, spectacular fall colors. It's worth a couple of hours if you happen to be in the area.
