Trip Report

Hannegan Pass and Peak — Saturday, Sep. 12, 2015

North Cascades > Mount Baker Area
Was looking for challenging hike than the usual near Seattle, came across Hannegan Pass/Peak and figure to give it a try. It was not hard to get there though the path to the trailhead was a one way so be careful on oncoming cars. There was a lot of pot holes to watch out for. I wished I was in an suv or a jeep but my corolla was able to withstand it if you go slowly. There was a lot of people when we reached to the trailhead at 5:30am, we saw many people was already there on Friday to go camping. We napped a bit in the car until the sunrise came on which was going to be 7am. The change in scenery was nice and different for a change from forests to mountains and rivers with tall plants that surround us. It is very rocky and the elevation gain was slowly gaining as we went up. We reached the Pass at 11:30am and took a break. Reach to the peak at 12:45pm. The promising 360 degree view was worth the hike up.
