Fall foliage by Evergreen Lookout
We chose this hike because I wanted to try out a hike that would be suitable for my smaller dog, jackpot! We didn't get to the trail till around 2:30-3pm, a lot of people were leaving as we were going up so after the first stretch we had the trail mostly to ourselves. It was a bit overcast up at the top so not perfect views but really what I wanted to see was fall foliage, and I was totally fulfilled by all of the colors. The hike itself is short but packs a punch as it is pretty unforgiving with how consistently steep it can be during the first stretch. Dog handled it like a pro! Really a great hike if looking for something short and sweet, but still a great workout. Set an alarm for my phone in January to rent out the lookout for next summer - what a great concept! We somehow ended up getting lost on the way up - there are two 6550 roads off Beckler Rd but down the first road we found awesome camping spots I would love to try out next year! Definitely need a high clearance vehicle for that road though.
Go corgi go!
