The trail is closed! We were really upset to find this upon arrival. Local Ranger, who was checking parking area, kindly explained that the whole trail is closed due to numerous incidents that occurred last year. I hiked it last fall, and it was quite impressive, so I can't wait to hear it's open again.
As for now, you may only wander along a fence which runs cliff edge. Any attempt to cross it means trespassing. The waterfall and canyon are still breathtaking, but be sure to think twice before you go. (In fact, we drove all the way from Seattle to see the fall and do the hike, but alas!) And yes, you still have to have Discover Pass or pay $10 fee on site.
