What a site this ghost town is to behold. I can only imagine the history here. First, be aware there are people who live here. Mattresses, broken glass, trash and sleeping bags were found in multiple buildings. The building are collapsing so use common sense when adventuring. The trail head was easy to find and there is plenty of parking. There is also on outhouse but no hand sanitizer. It was also nice to see a map of the walking trail with the scattered buildings on the map. I can see how you can easily walk up to five miles but the nearest two buildings are within the first half mile. We took ourselves up to the dairy farms and the food processing building (the closest buildings to the parking lot) and captured great photos. The dairy building are the 'cleanest' and well-maintained buildings of the two we saw. My suspicion is the further you travel from the parking lot the more disheveled and unsafe the buildings may become. Overall I had a really good time taking in the history of a mental hospital now turn ghost town. I would recommend this adventure for anyone wanting to see a piece of history with a nice, easy walk.
