Ebey's Landing — Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016

Puget Sound and Islands > Whidbey Island
Headed out on the 1030 am ferry and got to Ebey's Landing parking lot by about 1130. Right off I noticed that the wind was really blowing and just getting out of our car was crazy! We set out straight into a STRONG headwind but kept on going. The entire hike is between 5-6 miles, goes along the edge of a bluff, takes you down to the beach and then straight back toward the junction with info on Ebey's landing and another parking lot. Due to high winds and apparent vertigo on my part - I had a difficult time going along the bluff. I wouldn't suggest taking small children and potentially dogs on this hike due to the small path. Really, it wasn't that bad - but the winds - which were probably about 20 miles an hour made it even scarier. Once we got to the beach, we embarked on a difficult journey of walking into more strong headwind with the added obstacle of walking on beach rocks and sand. All in all - if it hadn't been so windy - I think it would've been a nice hike. It still was but the wind made it that much more of a pain. Definitely beautiful views of the water and a lagoon just below the bluff.
