Trip Report
Sharpe Park - Sares Head, Deception Pass State Park - Headlands / Rosario Head / Lighthouse Point — Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016
Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
We met Anya (Girl and Dog) and Russ at the Sharpe Park TH. They are the Good Samaritans who helped us change a flat tire on our truck in the parking lot for the Maple Pass Loop in October of 2014. Meeting them added to our list of hiking friends! We did the short hike to Sares Head. The day was cloudy and very windy, but we had no rain. From here we drove to Bowman Bay to do the hike to Lighthouse Point. When we first arrived, there were white caps on the water, but the winds gradually died down and by late afternoon the waters were calm. The sun came out and we had beautiful blue skies as we hiked to Lighthouse Point. Indian plum is beginning to bloom.
