Ebey's Landing — Monday, Feb. 22, 2016

Puget Sound and Islands > Whidbey Island
View from the Ridge Trail near the TH
We began our hike from the Prairie Overlook TH and walked the Ridge Trail to the Bluff Trail which took us to the beach where we had lunch. We enjoyed watching the marine traffic as we ate our lunch. The tide was high so the walkable beach area was very rocky and narrow so we returned to the TH via the Bluff Trail rather than do a loop along the beach. The day was cloudy so the Olympics were not seen. Although the sky was dark and threatening as we began our walk, the sun eventually came out and we had blue skies! A few flowers were blooming, but we think most were invasive species. Purple dead nettle and filaree were 2 of these we could identify! The Oregon grape had many buds and some were blooming. There is a porta-pottie at the second parking area which has been added since we were last here.

I must go

I am so happy you're back on the trails with a vengeance, Barb! And you even bring your own doctor, very fancy. :) I could use one of those . . .
Thank you for the lovely pics, as always and the TR. I've never been to Ebey's and am now more determined than ever to go.
