Great hike but wanted to comment on the road conditions. As anyone leaving a trip report the past few months has noted, the road to Staircase Rapids was in pretty bad shape, with lots of potholes. Yesterday I drove there with not one issue. They have filled all the potholes and were in the process of putting a top layer of gravel to even it all out. I always recommend this hike as its beautiful and a lovely walk for anyone, but now I can say you can get there with no issues at all!
