Hoh River Trail to Five Mile Island — Wednesday, Mar. 30, 2016

Olympic Peninsula > Pacific Coast
amazing views of snow-capped peaks!
A beautiful day in the rainforest! Note that the trail has MANY downed trees, a few that require going around through branches that can be tricky to negotiate - use caution to avoid twisting ankles! A few stream crossings, but none too difficult. No snow - we went as far as Happy Four Shelter at 5.7 miles in. Trail was very muddy, in a good way... :-)
Waterfall around 2.5 miles in
Amazing moss!
Gravel bars make great lunch spots
