went overnight as a plan B. having never been on this trail before gps was very helpful, as were the very faint, sometimes missing snowshoe tracks. i would guess that we were the first up there in quite a while. all and all a great trip ! steep but relatively short trail to the lake, which is gorgeous when covered with snow! be aware that there have been many avalanches and will probably be a few more in the next few weeks. proceed with caution and enjoy this beautiful place.
