Coal Creek Falls — Friday, Apr. 8, 2016

Issaquah Alps > Cougar Mountain
Footbridge across Coal Creek
A quick Spring Break hike to the falls and a great time to visit this short, sweet trail. Trail conditions are excellent dry and firm, and the falls are still running well. Spring flowers are out in force trillium, bleeding heart, violets, Oregon grape and more. On this sunny and warm Friday we met some annoying bugs at the falls, reminding us it's time to pack both sunscreen and bug spray. We stopped to look at the old mining artifacts on the way back, hard to imagine the industry that use to be present. The parking lot was completely full as we left around lunch time, come early especially if you are coming on the weekend.
Falls still flowing well
Lots of spring flowers including Trillium
Peaceful scences in what was once an industrial area.
