North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway

Hiked to Ashland Lakes w my dog and my cousin today. The road up was rough; we took my cousin's jeep and were happy to have 4 wheel drive. The hike was great- lots of snowfields and some mud and blow downs, but nothing major. I was in leggings and trail runners and it was fine. I would recommend waterproof shoes though. Overall, this is a lovely hike. We passed the Lake 22 trailhead on the way up and estimated that there were around 50 or 60 cars at the trailhead and all along the road, so it was totally worth the bumpy ride up for a little more solitude!
