Hiked here with my mom. There are flowers everywhere!!! Some of the balsamroot was winding down, but it still made for some great pictures. It is pretty steep all the way up. The trail likes to tease you by having several false summits. The trail is washed out in some areas. Still manageable but pretty steep and slippery in some places. We saw Ray Westbergs's memorial at the top. There is a pretty wide view at the top of Thorp and Ellensburg There are numerous trails around the ridge. We saw balsamroot, buckwheat, lupine, paintbrush, triteleia, fern leaved desert parsley, and white and pink phlox. We saw an very long snake on our way down. We don't think it was a rattlesnake. This was a very fun and beautiful hike.
