Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West
The start of the stairs...
If you like stairs, this is a great trail for you!! The road to the trail head is pretty rutted out! We went up in our Tacoma and think anything with less clearance would have been dragging the underside of the car along the way. The trail is easy to follow and no blowdowns for the first half mile or so. Then there are about 8-10 blow downs to the lake. At 5'4' some required me on my hands and knees to go under, others I muscled myself over the top on my tummy. The lake was beautiful and no bugs out!! On the way down I counted the wooden steps and counted 646!!! I might have missed a step or two but that's a LOT of steps!! Happy trails!!

Thanks for the information as I am looking forward to getting up there now that the trail is snow free.
