Talapus and Olallie Lakes — Tuesday, May. 17, 2016

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Hiked here with my mom. Got there around 10:00 AM. The parking lot was mostly full. The hike to Talapus lake is pretty easy to navigate with pretty gradual switchbacks. A little over a mile in you will come upon a roaring river that is quite beautiful. You can walk all the way down to the edge of the lake. There are some helpful rocks to sit on for a snack or lunch. The trail to the Olallie lake is more difficult to traverse. There are some downed logs that are easy to negotiate by going around or over them. A little bit further into the hike you will begin to come upon some more snow. During the last section the trail becomes harder to find with the snow. Try to follow the footprints in the snow. If you lose the trail trying going out about twenty feet in every direction to see if you can find some more footprints. The second lake is just a beautiful as the first one and has some nice places for lunch too. This is a great hike with just enough difficulty to get your workout but not to difficult as to hold you back too much.
