Puget Sound and Islands > Whidbey Island
Ebey's Landing by Lukin66
Seeking some sunshine, I gambled on the Olympic rain shadow and won. It was pouring buckets in Bothell, but by the time the dogs and I got to Ebey's Landing, it was sunny and warm. I didn't realize that there were two parking lots for this trail, so I parked by the cemetery. I did not see any signage indicating a pass was necessary, but I put my Discover Pass up just in case. While there were some parties on the earlier portion of the trail, it was just me and the dogs after I got about a quarter mile up the Bluff Trail. This is a great hike, with lovely views of the Olympics and Admiralty Inlet. Wildflowers are going crazy right now, and droning bees make a nice counterpoint to the waves coming in below the bluff. The only wildlife I spotted was a small flock of sand pipers down on the beach.
