North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway

We enjoyed our hike up to ashland lakes. It was a beautiful day: sunny and warm! The road to the trailhead had a lot of potholes, but was passable. We got to the trailhead around 12 PM. We had to park along the side of the road at the last junction and hike up the road to the trailhead. Not too bad, though... The trail was diverse: gravel, rocky, roots, and boardwalk. The trail was pretty muddy in places, but it was easy to maneuver around. We would definitely like to go back and campout overnight some time.
