Busy day at Hurricane Hill. Parking at trailhead gets full quickly, so carpool if you can. We had a group of 12, 4 adults and 8 kids ranging 7-13. Beautiful day, not too cold, not too hot...just right. While it is an easier hike than some I've been on, it is tough if you are not used to the higher elevation and lower oxygen level. Switchbacks to the top seem neverending, but worth the effort. I am not the most fit person, so I was the last of our group to reach the top...stop and take all the breaks you need! It was tough on our youngest member as well, but she made it with some help on the switchbacks. If you hike with kids, remind them that the wildlife is WILD...even if the chipmunks do run up your leg while you are eating your lunch. Don't feed them! Ultimately, though, this is so far one of my favorite hikes...will definitely do it again this summer, but either earlier or later in day.
