Started our trek to Home Lake via the Upper Dungeness trail. Made good time to Camp Handy. After Camp Handy trail climbs steadily to Boulder Shelter with intermittent flat areas, especially as you get closer to Boulder Shelter. Trail between Boulder Shelter and Home Lake becomes more primitive. Lots of brush, several trees blocking the trail, one waterfall that will get you damp/wet due to narrow footing, and one small area of snow to cross. Despite these "obstacles" nothing was too difficult to maneuver around. Another steady climb at the very end of the trail to Home Lake (maybe a mile or so). It did rain for about 1.5 hours just before we reached the lake. Limited camp sites at the lake and the rain flooded a couple of sites that were under the trees leaving even less availability. Very quiet and peaceful at the lake. Woke up the next morning and hiked up to see the beautiful views from Constance Pass - a short but steady climb. Overall a great hike and plenty of water sources available along the trail.
