Got to the trailhead at 5pm, very late but we made it to the top by 8pm with all of our gear so don't listen to the 5.5 hour trail report. It takes about the same amount of time to get down. Also make sure that you DO NOT turn left on to FR400 because that leads to heather lake, instead turn on FR500. Great hike, it was very foggy but still was great. Once you pass the burned down forest you're about halfway through. If you're staying the night make sure you start a fire because the mosquitos are almost unbearable without it. There were lots of fish surfacing in the lake but we did not bring our poles, maybe a good idea.
