This is a pleasant little "hike"! Easy parking and a completely paved trail, pretty much no elevation because it is flat the whole way to the lake. This is a great place to take kids to introduce them to different kinds of nature and show that life can still arise after the destruction (which is very, very dramatic). This hike a great contrast to earlier viewpoints where it's mostly dry and dead trees - here, the foliage is green, the frogs are many, and the dragonflies are... well, they're getting it on haha. We didn't think to do the creek crossing in the description, but we definitely will come back here.
Great for kids and seniors!
