Mount Catherine — Monday, Sep. 26, 2016

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

Couldn't stay inside on a beautiful day like today, so I made an impromptu decision to take my mini schnauzer with me up to Mt. Catherine. As people mentioned in other trip reports, the road up to the trail was rough but passable in my RAV4. Parking was no problem at all on a Monday afternoon. The trail was in great condition. Steep and quick! Took me 45 min to get to the top from the TH, and about 40 min to get back down. Two very large swarms of gnats at the top were an annoyance and kept me from spending much time up there. On my way back down, another hiker told me he had seen a coyote on his way up, but I didn't run into him. What a great afternoon workout on a beautiful day!
