Ira Spring Trail - Mason Lake, Mount Defiance — Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

Conditions were very muddy today after all the rain yesterday and last night. Even so, a decent pair of waterproof boots/shoes will keep you comfortable throughout the hike. Fall colors are bountiful, especially if you continue past Mason Lake and on up to Mt. Defiance. The view from the top was quite beautiful today, a mostly cloudy day. I would imagine on a clear day, the view from the top has to be spectacular! You definitely have to put some work in to reach the peak of Defiance, especially the last 3/4 of a mile, but it is well worth it.
