I did this hike back in July and am just getting around to writing the trail report.
This is not the kind of hike you want to do on a rainy or snowy day, as it certainly is a climb/scramble for the last hundred meters or so. Also not necessarily a hike to take kids on during any season for the same reason. Perhaps it was the route I took, but during the last 30 feet I felt pretty exposed. One slip certainly would've meant a serious tumble and likely serious injury. It was thrilling, but I'd like to do it again to see if perhaps there isn't a slightly safer route for the last couple hundred feet. The trail splits and disappears as you approach the rocky summit, so you're left to your own devices.
Up until then it's very doable. The trail's in great shape. The last half mile or so is quite steep with intermittent switchbacks. I did it in less than 5 hours with plenty of stops for photography & snack breaks. Beautiful day....
