Excited for one more nice day of fall, we headed up to Gothic Basin in mostly sunny conditions. After the road walk there's a section of trail that looks like it's being rebuilt - I hope so, because the old road has eroded into the river and there's a makeshift path to get around to the original trailhead. It was quite muddy and wet, but provided no real obstacles.
Soon enough we were heading up! This trail always feels longer than it should, but the rewards were excellent. A fresh coat of snow covering the basin and Foggy Lake not yet frozen made for a beautiful lunch spot.

Nice pics! I did this hike earlier this year, but think the beauty is magnified with a fresh coat of snow.
