Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Pratt Lake Basin by Kutapuri
Fantastic day hiking up the Pratt lake trail and then on to Olallie lake. The road to the TH had been plowed recently so any type of car can make it there without much difficulty. There's enough snow on the trail to snowshoe or ski all the way from the TH. The trail is also boot packed so you can at least make it to the granite mtn junction with boots alone. Few obstacles along the way that would cause any problems. As noted previously, creek crossings require a little thought but are pretty straight forward (unless you are on skis which ramps up the degree of difficulty significantly). My dog and I made to just short of the island lakes junction. Trail is fine for humans with snowshoes but she started sinking in at that point so we turned back. There were several groups coming up behind us so the trail likely improved by the day's end. We made the detour to olallie lake on the way down. The connector trail is generally in good shape but since the traffic this way was less it was not as well packed in. The actual junction to the olallie lake trail is a little dicey so take care. Olallie lake was prestine and worth the short hike. the trail around the lake looks established but we didn't check it out first hand.
