This morning we arrived at the Mount Storm King ranger station about 10:30am to hike to Marymere falls and Mount Storm King! The trail from the ranger station goes under the road in a tunnel and enters a beautiful old growth forest. We started with boots and poles on the dirt trail but put on microspikes when we arrived at the bridge to cross the river. The bridges going up the loop to the falls are compact snow and ice. The trail to lookout viewpoints over the falls are a sheet of ice. I highly recommend microspikes and poles even for this short and sweet trail! As of today, the falls are a frozen wonderland sight you must see for yourself! Happy hiking!!
