Coal Creek Falls — Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017

Issaquah Alps > Cougar Mountain

After a record rainfall yesterday we decided to check out Coal Creek Falls. Our original plan was to make a loop starting on the Wildside trail but unfortunately the trail was covered in 6 inches of fast running water just before the 1st bridge. We tried the Steam Hoist trail but it was also flooded. Back to the Red Town Trail which just had a few small stream crossings. We did a short side trip to Far Country Falls before heading up the Quarry trail to the Coal Creek Falls trail. The falls were flowing better than I've ever seen. Not at all crowded on this pleasant Thursday. RT 4.5 mi
