Trip Report
Beacon Rock State Park - Beacon Rock — Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017
Southwest Washington > Columbia River Gorge - WA
We were on our way to stay in Oregon and we came across Beacon Rock. It was so beautiful and we saw it was a hike so we stopped. There were signs up saying closed due to snow in Jan, but we started up anyways. There was no snow on the trail, but it was VERY cold. There were some big trees down over the trail in the start but we crawled over/under them and got over them ok. Once we got to the bridging, the gate was locked and we could not go any further. It looked like they might have some repairs/cleaning to do from snowfall over the winter because the hand rails were bent a little.
Once this trail opens again, it is a definite must to come back!
