Eastern Washington > Spokane Area/Coeur d'Alene
I took my dog on this hike in the middle of winter and it was somewhat of a winter wonderland hidden in plain sight. It's only like a 10 or 15 minute drive north from the middle of the Spokane Valley and is very easy to get to. The trailhead actually has two well sized parking lots.
This time my party included my dog, my girlfriend, and her dog and this was a perfect little spring-time day hike. The wind at the top was somewhat insane but with a little hammock ingenuity and some good lunch, it was wonderful. The view you get of the Valley at the top is incredible for being this close to the city. This hike is a little bit of a workout on the way up so be ready for those good ol' burnin' calves and thighs. But it's well worth the effort...believe me.
Happy trails!!
