K-3 Trail, West Tiger 2, Talus Rock Trail, Tiger Mountain Trail, West Tiger 3 & Section Line Trail — Monday, Apr. 24, 2017

Issaquah Alps > Tiger Mountain

Thanks to a woman I saw twice last week on Tiger, starting at High Point, I took Tiger Mtn Trail to K-3 to West Tiger #2. From there to W Tiger #1, then back to #2 and #3. Down Section Line to Nook to Talus Rock Trail, to West Tiger. Wonderful experience of solitude--only saw 6 other hikers. Starting at 4:40 allowed the glorious golden evening light on West Tiger to lift my spirits. Watched 6 eagles and 7 paragliders at West Tiger #1. Already pretty satisfied with the beauty so proximal to the city until about 1/4 mile from the end/beginning when I came upon 3 bears! As with all my encounters with bears, they saw/smelled/heard me just before I saw them. The one who ran away caught my attention before I noticed the other two standing quite nearby. Wonderful! Such a beautiful spring this year!
